Reception is open from 8am to 7pm (updated April 2026). These hours change depending on the time of year and the season.

Yes, you most certainly can. Please contact us and we can walk you through the late arrival options.

We accept Visa, Mastercard and New Zealand cash.  Payment by credit card or payWave incurs a fee.

It depends on the time of year and how busy we are. We cannot guarantee that your accommodation will be available for an early check-in or late check-out. It would be best to speak directly with the Customer Services team to see if we can accommodate your request.

Over our peak period 20 Dec – 10 January we will not be able to accommodate any early check-ins or late check-outs.

When you book a unit or campsite you have full access to all of our communal facilities: showers, toilets, kitchens, baby change room, sky lounge, BBQs, dump stations and accessible toilets. These are all free to use except the washing machines and dryers.

Yes, the washing machines and dryers are token operated plus some accept digital payment. The tokens can be purchased from Reception for $5 each. One token does either a wash or a dry and a each cycle takes approximately 35 to 45 minutes.

We also have multiple washing lines throughout the camp if you would prefer to hang dry your clothes.

Guests supply their own laundry powder. Alternatively, it can be purchased from Reception for $2 (enough for two loads). 

No, we don’t. Guests need to provide their own cooking and eating utensils. In our facilities blocks you’ll find ovens, stovetops, hot water Zip, a microwave, toasters and a communal fridge/freezer.

We have kitchen packs available from reception – $30 refundable bond paid up front. The kitchen pack includes 1 pot, 1 frypan, cooking utensils, dinnerware and cutlery, chopping board, dish cloth and tea towel.

Please return the kitchen pack to reception, all items clean and in good condition to receive $30 bond refund.

Yes, we require a deposit to confirm your booking within 2 weeks of placing the booking. The deposit is the first night’s tariff per unit/site. The deposit can be paid through providing the Customer Services team with your card details, through direct credit or through our website.

The balance of reservation (after deposit) is payable on or before arrival for the full term booked.

In Peak Season (26 Dec – 9 Jan): 

• If your reservation is cancelled at least 30 days before your arrival date you will receive a full refund of any payments made.
• If you cancel within 30 days of your arrival date in Peak Season, a cancellation fee of one night’s accommodation will apply.

Winter Season (1 May to 30 September), Spring Season (1 October – 25 December) and Summer Season (10 January – 30 April): 

• If your reservation is cancelled at least 3 days before your arrival date, you will receive a full refund of any payments made. 
• If you cancel within 3 days of your arrival date in Winter, Spring or Summer Seasons, a cancellation fee of one night’s accommodation will apply.

Yes! We offer free and unlimited Wi-Fi for all guests staying with us.

Campsite only – we offer Wintering Over from the 1 March to 30 September in the Yellow Zone, criteria applies and subject to site availability.

To maintain the holiday character of Tāhuna Beach Holiday Park and ensure fair availability for all guests, the maximum continuous stay for campsites is 30 days, unless otherwise approved in writing by Management.

Guests must vacate their site on or before their confirmed departure date unless a written extension has been granted.

If interested in staying long term ask us about Wintering Over – criteria applies and subject to site availability.

Yes, we are pet-friendly from 1 February – 19 December in the Green camping zone, Classic Studios units 85 and #86, and Apartment Motels units 18 and 19 by prior arrangement. A No-Pets policy is enforced between 20 December and 31 January due to the large number of guests on sites. There is a small fee of $10 per pet for those staying in the Classic Studios and Apartment Motels.

Strictly no pets in any other roofed accommodation at any time of the year, except for approved service animals; you may be asked to present proof of this on arrival. If a pet is found in a unit (other than Classic Studio – #85 or #86 and Apartment Motel – #18 or #19), we reserve the right to charge an allergy cleaning fee of $150 on departure. Failure to remove the pet will result in eviction of guest responsible without a refund.

Visitors of TBHP guests are not permitted to bring pets on site (including in vehicles) at any time during the year.

Our Holiday Park is a great place to bring kids! We have plenty of things to do across the Park including multiple playgrounds with a mega-swing, double flying fox, bouncy pillow and a sandpit playground. We also have a mini golf course ($6 per player) and pedal karts for hire.

Not only do we have plenty to do in the Park, but we are walking distance to other exciting activities such as Natureland, ProKarts, and the Fun Park.

Yes, we can store your luggage for you. Talk to one of the Customer Services team and they can organise it for you.

No, we do not.  However, our Green Zone backs right onto the beach.

We have a lovely Café on site next door to Reception. From here you can purchase food and basic supplies such as milk, bread, pegs, etc. Parkside Café opening hours are 8am to 2.30 pm Monday to Saturday, closed on Sundays.

The closest supermarket to the Holiday Park would be Woolworths at the Nelson Junction, which is about 3.4km away.

No, all of our roofed accommodation has linen and towels supplied.

Yes, all items that are brought into Reception or items that our staff have found are logged and kept in lost property in Reception. If you have lost something, please contact our Customer Services team and we will try and locate your item and get it back to you. We can keep it in Reception for you to come and collect or post it to you. However, you must pay for the postage.

The lost property is kept in Reception for 30 days before it is disposed of.

Yes, there is allocated parking spots for all of our roofed accommodation. Any vehicles can be parked on campsites within site boundaries.

Yes, you can hire a RCD cord from Reception. We require a $50.00 bond which is refunded on its return.

Most of our sites have a tap but not all of them. If you would like to book a site with a tap please select ‘Water Tap – sites only’ when booking online or tell one of our Customer Services team when booking and they will select one for you.

The water from all of the taps in the Holiday Park is safe to drink.

Our Holiday Park is within 3km of a Medical Centre and 6km (10mins) from Nelson Hospital with Emergency Admissions.
